When I first sat down to write this book, I thought it would be a way to finally share my story – just lay it all out and let people in on what I’ve lived through. But what I didn’t expect was how much writing it would change me.
Telling your truth is one thing. Reliving it while putting it on paper? That’s something else entirely.
There were parts of my story that I’ve carried quietly for years – some because they were too painful, others because I just didn’t think anyone would understand. But every time I wrote a scene that made me pause, made me cry, or made me want to slam my laptop shut and walk away, I reminded myself why I started this in the first place.
I’m writing for the girl who felt alone in her hospital bed.
For the young mom who wondered if she’d have the strength to keep going.
For the woman who didn’t feel beautiful after surgery.
For anyone out there who thinks they’re the only one struggling with something hard, invisible, or misunderstood.
I had to learn how to stop filtering my experiences. Not every chapter has a neat resolution. Not every memory feels polished or even fair. But I realized that true connection doesn’t come from perfection – it comes from vulnerability. And writing this book has forced me to go there, even when it hurt.
There’s a strange kind of power in sharing the parts of yourself you used to hide. It strips away the fear. It creates space for others to say, me too. And it’s in that space that healing happens – not just for me, but I hope, for everyone who reads this.
So if you’re following along on this journey, thank you. Just knowing you’re here means more than you probably realize. This book started as mine, but it’s turning into something so much bigger – something we can share.
If this post hit home or reminded you of your own story, I hope you’ll stick around. I’d love for you to leave a comment, share your thoughts, or just let me know you’re here. And if you want to be the first to hear when the book is ready, there’ll be a spot to sign up for updates soon.
We’re figuring this out together – one honest story at a time.
