This book has been years in the making – maybe not always on paper, but definitely in my heart.
I’ve lived with Crohn’s disease for most of my life. I had my life-saving ostomy surgery at fifteen. I’ve survived nine surgeries in fourteen months, faced more complications than I can count, and learned to live with a body that often feels like it’s working against me. But I’ve also fallen in love, raised two incredible boys, and found meaning in places I never expected.
This isn’t just a medical story. It’s about resilience, marriage, motherhood, grief, healing, and the quiet strength that gets you through the worst days. It’s about how life keeps going – even when you feel like yours has stopped – and how it can still be so good.
Here’s a small look inside – just one moment from the beginning:
“It was Christmas Day. My mom took me to the hospital. I was so weak, I couldn’t walk. The nurses helped me into a wheelchair. Everything felt blurry. They ran bloodwork right away and started fluids. I was shutting down. I didn’t know it yet, but I was days away from a surgery that would save my life – and change it forever.”
There’s more coming. I’m still writing, still healing, still piecing it all together. But I promise – when the time comes, I’ll share it with you.
Thanks for being here.
